 Welcome to Dragonfire Agility and Dragonfire
Dogs. These pages will
introduce
you to me, Louise Wetzel, I live in Queens NY. I am currently teaching
agility classes and private lessons on Long Island, NY. I also have students
in Westchester County. Let me introduce you to My Dogs,
past and present, who have taught me so much about agility and how to get

I am a current member of
Long Island Agility and
Doggie U K9 Academy, LIRR Flyball Team and a past member of
Contact Agility Club. I have been the Show Chairman for Long
Island Agility's spring NADAC trial for the past number of years.
Devin
and I, pictured along with judge, Jean Mackenzie, who gave us that elusive
Masters Jumpers leg at the CATS October 2003 USDAA trial. This was our MAD
title, Master Agility Dog, something we worked long and hard for.
Thank you Jean and everyone else along the way who helped us achieve the
title, all the judges and the five Masters Pairs Relay partners:
Ella DuPree and Mick,
Judy Reilly and Brodie, Brian McGunigle and Edna, Nancy Obara and Majel,

We are working on that Advanced agility dog title and on this weekend he was
in his first Masters Snooker runs and did well. He is an fun dog to run in agility.

One large area of interest besides my dogs and
agility, are wolves and all things wolf. I have an extensive
collection of all types of wolf collectibles, dog statues and horse
figurines.
Dragons are my second passion, hence the
name Dragonfire and all my dogs have Dragonfire in their "fancy" names. I
also read quite a bit science fiction, fantasy and mystery.
Books in these genres fill my book shelves.

Doggie U K9 Academy
information
 I am also teaching in Bay Shore, LI, NY at
Doggie "U" K-9 Academy, new state of the art indoor facility which
opened the week of June 20th, 2005. I am teaching agility
classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings for Doggie U, contact

Wednesday evening agility classes at 6:00 and 8:30 are both Competition classes, using the
full floor at Doggie U. The size of the ring is 100 x 75.
Great for training on full sized courses before and during the trial
season.

Carmen and her owner Teri Nolan....... the saga continues......
An even bigger News Flash
for 2007
Carmen is now a MACH dog!
Teri did a fantastic job handling her to that last double Q in Jumpers at
the Staten Island AKC show in November 2007. I am so proud of the
two of them, way to go girls......
Carmen
and Teri were awesome at the AKC National Agility Competition in 2007. They
ran in five runs and were clean in four of them! A great showing for
a great handler and a 10 year old super dog. We had fun on our trip, I was
pleased to be a part of the experience. Happy Birthday Carmen, April
15th you are 10 years old!******
2006 has been an exciting year for Carmen.
A move to the country where in addition to agility her new hobbies include
chasing birds and digging for China.
The season started off strong with 2
QQ at the Pine Barrens Cluster. As a new team, we were still
adjusting to each other. We were earning qualifying rounds towards
our MX and picking up MACH points and extra jumpers legs. In May we
took a break to do NADAC and earned her EAC-V and WV-N titles. In
August Carmen participated at the All Star tournament in York PA.
She was awesome coming in second out of 24 dogs in the 8” class. We
settled down in the Fall and at the Springfield cluster in November Carmen
completed her MX title. In addition, we found out the Carmen is now
qualified to go to the AKC Nationals in March. At the Non-Sporting
trial in December Carmen finished off the 2006 agility season with her 7th
double ending the year with 445 points. She is well on her way to
her MACH. Carmen picked up two more double Q's at the Agility for a
Cause cluster in Springfield, she is now over the half-way mark for the
MACH!!!!

At the AKC Canine
Experience day July 27 2008 at Doggie U, Carmen at the tender age of 11
and half got her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) title. She did a
great job. And her much younger brother Keegan also got his CGC on
that same day. Smart, well-behaved dogs........ Congrats to
Teri, Carmen and Keegan
