Brags and Accomplishments

My teaching skills are reflected in the accomplishments of my students and I revel in their successes.  Perhaps they are only in it for fun then just the happiness and joy they get with working with their dogs, tells me I am doing the right thing.  And if they are successful in entering the competition ring, awesome!

I am so excited, I am shaking. I just got off the phone with the American
Kennel Club. Penni has been selected to received the Award for Canine
Excellence for therapy dog. The students at Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf nominated her. I am truly humbled by this award. There are many, many therapy dogs accomplishing fabulous things. To have the AKC select Penni out of all them, just blows me away. The award will be presented at the AKC Eukanuba show in Long Beach, California on December 1 and 2, 2007 and also there will be a local presentation at an all breed show (details to follow) soon.

Right now Penni is experiencing her seasonal allergies and has chewed the hair off the tail she isn't supposed to have. Do you think it will be grown back in time for her tv appearance?

Hi Louise,

This photo was taken last year after a phenomenal weekend in 4 APDT Rally Trials.  Lily (on the left) finished her ARCH title.  Joey finished his RL1 title and had one perfect score out of the four Qs!  I can only hope to come close to such a successful weekend.  While Joey hasn’t started his agility career yet, Lily did finish OAP and double Q last October at Staten Island’s agility trial – in hurricane-force wind!  So far this year Lily has finished her AKC RAE title.

Since I last wrote, Lily has finished her ARCHX, Joey has finished his Level 2 title and his ARCH (APDT Rally titles).

"On May 30th 2008, Border Collie Chase earned his last masters pairs leg needed to complete his USDAA Agility Dog Champion title at Contact Agility in Carmel NY.  Special thanks to Louise for giving us great guidance along the way (Chase has been training with Louise since he was a youngster).  Also, while far from ready to hit the agility scene, baby BC brother Pre earned third place in his first Skyhoundz distance/accuracy frisbee competition on July 12th in Sayville, NY."  -

Not a likely breed to excel in performance work, but Willy has accomplished more in the performance arena than any other Sharpei in the world.  He is the only Champion Versatility Sharpei, with titles in agility, freestyle, obedience, rally, herding , therapy work and a breed champion.  Here he is, running in the Excellent Class.....Thank you , Louise, for giving us his start in the agility world.  He has made his mark in the history books.........

Bosun recently completed his Rally Excellent title at the Riverhead Kennel Club show.  Bosun, who just turned three years old, but acts like a pup, loves going over the jumps and has to be slowed down a bit to keep under control for the rest of the run. He always thinks he’s in agility!   Bosun also earned his first leg on his CD at the spring shows.

Aussies and Chinese Cresteds

Hi Louise!

Louise has gradually but steadily transformed my supercharged, attention deficient firecracker of a female Australian Shepherd puppy named Maleva, into a manageable (mostly), loving pet by means of her stimulating and challenging (for both dog and owner) agility classes. Additionally, since Maleva was such a high energy Aussie, Louise gave some good advice by suggesting herding lessons in addition to the weekly agility, and recommended an instructor. I now have Maleva doing both activities, and it seems the better she does in one, the better she does in the other-they reinforce each other. Maleva continues to improve, and her progress is quite visible practically every week. I was encouraged by my herding instructor's statement, after a few weeks with Maleva, that she is the most talented young Aussie she has ever worked with. So, Louise, thanks for the agility and the referral to herding. Flyball next?

Hope File

Jan Collier and Beezus:

Thanks, Louise, for helping Beezus make her breakthrough in CPE Jackpot Level 4. I was beginning to think I’d never have the distance handling skills to Q at the higher levels in this crazy game. But now I walk out on the course with confidence and a plan, and so does Beezus. And we have the same plan! Four years ago Beezus was a scrawny mixed-breed rescue of unknown age, and now she’s an Agility Princess.
